I've read that I'm supposed to look out for runner jobs in safe space, but Ive been all over and the closest job I've seen is in Segunis which is risky because of the CONS sector without a station, so I just sit around getting blasted to death.

Aside from s l o w l y mining my way along to more Satoshi what should I do to accelerate my growth? Not sure I'm understanding how to do that.

This is a game of patience. Things aren't meant to happen over night so hang in there!

If you are in a sector where there are no Stations you can land on one of the planets and wait for your engine to cool down before you make the next jump. The only time you will be stuck hanging in space is if all the planets are gas giants or players that own the planet has banned other players from landing there.

In my honest opinion (and this is only MY opinion) taking jobs as a newbie is a waste of time. Most of the jobs require that you jump through multiple sectors, and with only 1 engine that means a 10 minute waiting time after every jump. My suggestion is to become familiar with the prices of goods and prices in the Market. start selling some crafted goods (Copper Plates, Iron Plates,etc) at reasonable prices and you will make some decent profits. The more your skills build up the easier things will become.

If you do want to do Delivery jobs then I suggest saving up for a second Basic Engine. Buy it as soon as you can and replace one of your mining lasers with the engine. This will allow you to perform 2 jumps before having to wait for the 10 minute cooldown and for your energy to replenish.
